Just like one kind of training might not suit all organizations, one specific training challenge does not apply to all. There are two specific steps that will help overcome any training challenge;
The first is to realize that at any given point, any kind of training would help any organization. The point is, given that time allocated for training is limited and budgets are often a constraint, it makes sense to train individuals and teams on the most pressing areas or the so called weakest links. Which means that adequate time and effort need to be invested in identifying those areas before money is invested in conducting training sessions.
Secondly, it must be on every leader’s or manger’s KRA to keep looking out for what could make training more effective in their span of control and taking active steps to get better training outcomes. This first of all pre supposes that there is some amount of training happening and secondly, it is geared towards making training a valuable intervention.
