Resilience is the capacity to withstand stress and catastrophe. It does not mean that one does not feel stress or any negative emotion. What it does mean is the capacity to bounce back from stressful situations and process negative emotions and situations in a better fashion. The good news about resilience is that it is not something that you are born with or without. It develops as people grow up and gain a better understanding of life and also increase their self management skills. Resilience is found across a range of behaviours, actions and thoughts that can be learned and developed throughout life.
