All of us deal with disagreement, differences and other conflicts that arise in both personal and professional lives. How do we deal with those conflicting situations? Do we avoid or do we confront? What is our natural way of handling conflict? Is there an effective way of handling conflict?

Conflict Resolutions Styles drive home the message that we usually can’t avoid or ignore these conflicts, but we can learn how to deal with them with minimal levels of stress, frustration and anxiety.

Everyone encounters situations where s/he has to deal with some kind of conflict. Most people favor one conflict-handling style, but there is no “one-size-fits-all” response to conflict. In any organizational role, be it managerial or leadership, the ability to handle conflict effectively tends to influence one’s effectiveness. However, if we can master all possible conflict resolution styles and choose the most appropriate response style depending on uniqueness of each situation, we would be more effective.
